Lack of food. Also, if you are under treatment for allergies, the drugs might cause your lack of energy. Stress and depression or low blood pressure are very important. You should also take care of your heart because it might be a heart disease.

A lack of protein in the morning may an immediate cause for a sudden lack of energy. Does your typical breakfast contain mostly carbohydrates? Try adding a protein such as egg, cheese or any of the variety of vegetarian meat substitutes to your breakfast routine.

Assuming you have no known medical issues, the answer is straight forward. Your lack of energy can be attributed to poor diet, vitamin deficiency, lack of exercise or inadequate sleep.

You may need vitamins to perk you up. You may also be suffering from 'seasonal affective disorder' where at certain times of the year the lack of sunlight robs you of your energy. Maybe you aren't getting enough sleep at night.
