A mineral called calcium sometimes builds up in breast tissue and over time hardens this is called breast calcification. Calcium can build up in other parts of your body too.

Injuries to the breast can cause calcification. Breast infections such as Mastititis,and breast cancer will cause calcifications. Age is also a factor. As women age, the cells within the breast will secrete calcium that cause deposits.

Deposits of calcium in some areas of the breast tissue that can sometimes show up as white spots on a mammogram. Calcium be deposited in breast tissue for different reasons, but many are not related to cancer.

they are calcium deposits in the breast usually not related to cancer mostly caused by trauma injury or infection in the breast
