What can you tell me about an OCD fear of HIV contaminated handles?

A fear of HIV contaminated needles is not necessarily OCD. In fact, if the individual with this proported symptom worked with HIV patients and needles, this would be within the normal range. If not, the individual should see a Psychiatrist and Psychologist, it is treatable.

As with any OCD behavior, it is very overwelming and frightening to the individual. The mind is on high alert and convinces itself that everything is a possible threat of contamination. Treatment and therapy are highly recommended for the ease of life functions.
