There are many factors that could contribute to your dog being hyper, including diet and boredom. You can change your dogs diet, take them to an obedience school, so you can learn to control them with verbal commands, or you can play with them. Hyper dogs usually just need some good exercise.

Labs love and need a lot of activity so may he needs a place to exercise safely. A dog who is bored may also be hyper so maybe new toys or bones will give him something to do. An extra daily walk can allow him to sleep better and will be good for you too.

In my experience, only giving the dog my complete attention seems to help. Try vigorous playing -- wrestling, tug-of-war -- and lots of human interaction. Maybe even go for a run. Be careful, though, because getting really active too soon around meal time can cause health problems.

The best thing that works is to get them out and to walk them for at least an two hour walk this will get him tired and better focus and it's a great bonding experience for you and the dog also.

Labs are a working breed of dog. They need kind of like a job to do. This will help them. So maby like getting the newspapper for example. They need alot of excercise. So a run outside would be a great idea. I had a collie/german shepard. That is a very hyper dog.

Don't yell on him because this kind of dog is very sensitive. Be friendly with him and explain him what to not do and he will anderstand! Watch him and tell him friendly when he's not acting good! If he's on the sofa let him go down by himself because he gotta anderstand.
