What can cause mucus and discharge?

I don't think it's a yeast infection.

Your vaginal fluids change as you move through your monthly cycle. Sexual excitment can cause an obvious increase in fluids. Check with your doctor for your own peace of mind.

Some mucus discharge is normal, particularly during ovulation. However, discharge that has a strong "fishy" odor, discharge that burns, or discharge that is yellow or green in color most likely indicates an infection and should be checked by your doctor.

Discharge and mucus formation (if it is generally clear or just a little murky colored) is a normal cleaning process of the vagina, and just means your body is returning its bacteria balance back to normal. If the discharge is an abnormal color however, you should see a doctor.

Many different conditions can cause mucus or discharge. It is possible you have a yeast infection presenting abnormally, or another STD. Contact a doctor or clinic and get tested.
