Benzodiazepines are psychoactive drugs. Side affects of these drugs can include dizziness or drowsiness due to the fact that they are used as muscle relaxants and sedatives. These drugs can impair you from driving and may also cause decreased alertness or concentration and decreased libido.

The most common side effects of benzodiazepines are dizziness, lethargy, decreased alertness and concentration, as well as decreased coordination. Long-term usage of benzodiazepines can result in dependence, requiring the tapering off of dosage instead of stopping "cold turkey." Tolerance develops fairly quickly when using benzodiazepines - usually within a couple of weeks.
