Love birds are one of the most common types of birds kept as pets. There is a wide variety of these birds available, the most common of which are the peach faced, masked , and the Fischer. There are also quite a few more uncommon ones such as the red faced, the Madagascar, and the Nyasa, to name a few.

The idea of "Love Birds" actually goes back to Ancient Greece. Its a symbolism and not an actual species designation. Its the same as Roses represent love and Lilies represent purity. Paired Turtle Doves represent pure love. Peacocks represent Eros or romantic love. There are a number of other symbolisms.

There are nine species of Love Bird types. The most common Love Bird Types are Peach faced Love Bird, Black Masked Love Bird, and Fischer's Love Bird. They will often bond with a mate for life and show extremley loyal and show affection to their family.
