Don't be bullied into signing something you aren't comfortable with. The time for negotiation is prior to signing the lease. Be sure that you are clear on how much your deposit is, what you have to do to get it back, when your rent is due, and what the penalty is for paying late. Note any damage to the property.

Always read the lease you are signing and ask questions about things you do not understand. Make sure that everything within the lease is completely correct and get a copy of the entire lease immediately upon signing it.

Remember always it is good to take care of few things before signing an agreement with a landlord like price, furnished house or unfurnished, pets are allowed or not etc.

Do not sign a lease if it requires that you pay the rent for the remainder of the lease even if you leave or move out.
