What are some small towns in California?

Indian Wells has a population of 3,080, and offers Joshua Tree National Park, among other things. June Lake, population 600, provides horseback riding, hot springs, and Yosemite National Park, along with awesome scenery. Knights Ferry, population 191, has several National forests and parks. Mi-Wuk with 1,485 people, is on the way to Sonora Pass and has outside activites.

St. Helena is considered a wine country which is located right in the middle of Napa Valley. Julian is in Cuyamaca Mountains and near San Diego is very country and very touristy.
