Catholicism is very strong in Poland, influencing people's attitudes towards things like sexuality, swearing, criticism of the pope. In my experience Poles also tend to be rather outgoing and festive.

Polish people are some of the best educated in the world, with over 90% having completed at least a secondary form of education (making Poland the highest-ranking country in Europe). The country is relatively poor compared to the rest of the EU and has high unemployment levels, but Poles still manage to have the largest households in Europe.
