A sinus infection needs to be treated with antibiotics in order to remove the bacteria that is causing it. Two year olds should not take cold medications, but they can take children's tylenol to help with pain management. You can also use hot compresses on sensitive areas. They should drink plenty of fluids and get a lot of rest.

Depending upon the severity of the sinus infection, a prescription antibiotic might be needed. For a more minor cold, there are numerous over-the-counter medications (such as children's tylenol) that are effective, as well.

Sinus infections in adults and toddlers will be treated with antibiotics. The antibiotics will take care of the infection, but maybe try some saline drops to take care of any congestion in the nose and then some tylenol if they are in pain or a have a fever. Also a cool mist humidifer will work with congestion.

Tylenol will help relieve the pain and aid in sleeping. If the infection is really bad see your pediatrician or family doctor.
