Make sure you arrange your life upon release so that you cannot fall back into the old habits. If you can show that you will have a place to live away from former associates and even a job to go to so you are not unemployed and on the streets to make trouble, they are more likely to consider it.

Prepare a well-researched, logical, rational argument in accordance with the requirements and policies of such a release. You must have ample reason why early release is a good idea.

Good behavior is key. The people who make these decisions will automatically reject anyone who has recently been written up for bad behavior.
