As a general rule of thumb, for every ton of air conditioning 400 CFMs are required to move it, so somewhere in the area of 2000 CFM is a fair estimate. Additionally, every ton of air conditioning equates to about 12,000 BTUs of heat that are removed from the air.

On a 5 ton unit I would say roughly 1800-2200 CFMs. 1800 CFMs would be on the low side as 1600 CFMs are close to a 4 ton unit. 2200 CFMs would obviously be on the high side. You're going to need a few things. A good tool set is handy, a set of sockets, and basic items.

You should be returning 450 CFM's for every ton. Since you have a 5 ton unit you should return 2250 CFM's.

If the capacity of the unit is 5 ton,i think it should give a return of 1600 cfm. however it depends upon te functionality and the smoothness of the engine. sometimes it may give upto 2000 cfm in return. but the engine should be in right condition and maintained properly. But the minimum output is 1600.

Going to the makers of the Vehicle or making a simple phone call to get the specs. is a better choice. Each Vehicle has it's own specs. to the T.

You should probably expect about five to ten thousand of these in return. If you plan on towing more than usual the output of these could end up being a lot more.
