My Dobie has a flat stool; no blood, not runny, just not well formed. Should I be concerned?

My Doberman is 5 years old, energetic and eats like a pig.

It is probably the heat. Be sure you feed him a a reputable dog food brand, make sure he has plenty of water, check his ears, and don't be overly concerned. If he eats like a pig, you are surely breaking it into two meals, and feed the larger of the two right before exercise.

The dog has a common reaction to having ingested large amounts of fluid. This is not a bad thing just as long as he's properly nourished.

If this is a one time thing it may not be a reason to be concerned. However if it continues or is accompanied by vomiting, see a vet.

Flat stool(shape) could be indicative of an obstruction. But since he is having bowel movements, it isn't that much to worry about. Flat(consistency) could mean may need more fiber.
