Is there any income that is not subject to federal laws?

Income that is earned from a foreign government position in not subject to taxation. However, it would still be subject to the laws, unless you lived in another country. Some nonprofit organizations do not pay social security or medicaid, but are still subject to basic income tax and federal laws.

Income from tax free mutual funds are not subject to federal income tax. You can invest in mutual funds that are also exempt from state income taxes.

I believe almost all legal jobs will be subject to federal, state and local laws. Extra cash made online such as using rewards programs, up to $600 would not fall into that category.
