Drinking only water for an extended time is common in fasting. It is not recommended for more than 24 hours due to the risk of electrolyte imbalance (taking in water without salts or sugars). Do not do so for more than 48 hours unless you are under doctor's advice.

While it is true that you can exist without food but with only water for a long time, it is not healthy for you. There are many essential vitamins and nutrients in food that you need for your body to function well. Water does not provide all of these.

Well, there is the risk of dying of starvation. Then you also have the risk of actually poisoning yourself with too much water in your system. Though that is if you over drink.

Do you mean drinking only water and eating food, or drinking only water and not eating/drinking anything else? If you mean the latter, you could upset the balance of electrolytes by drinking only water. But if you are still eating, drinking only water is the best thing to drink.
