Is it safe to give Benadryl to cats?

My cat has allergies and my mom suggested I use Benadryl, I would like to make certain it is safe.

Unless you mom is a Vet I wouldn't take her advice. Call a Vet and ask him if this is okay. You could have a serious result.

The only time to use a human drug on a cat would be after consultation with a veterinarian. Cats' systems are different--for example, Tylenol will kill them.

If you really want to have a safety for your cat you have to consult to veterinarian. I think it is okay.

Benadryl cough syrup is a human medicine. Usually the vetinerry doctors will priscribe human medicines for our pets. But the dossage will be depends upon the body wait of the pet. Once,as per the advise of our vetinerry doctor I have cured my cat by giving benadryl from coughing.
