Many human medications are extremely toxic to cats, including aspirin. A single dose can actually kill a cat. Cats should only be given medications specifically formulated for cats unless it is a qualified veterinarian administering the medication, and owners should always consult a veterinarian before administering medication themselves.

Please don't give your cat any drug unless you ask your vet first. Cats are very sensitive and can't metabolize medications the way dogs can. It could prove fatal.

Cats can take aspirin, but they are very susceptible to aspirin toxicity because they do not break it down easily. It is only given at small doses under veterinary supervision.

You can give your cat aspirin but in a much smaller dose than you would typically give a dog or human. Cats can't process aspirin as easily.
