Is it okay to have interior Dutch doors?

I want them going into a playroom.

Although they seem to be out of vogue at the moment, interior Dutch doors can be useful for families with small children. Latching the bottom doors while keeping the top ones open will allow the children to be contained safely while giving you the ability to watch and hear them.

I totally think having a dutch door for a grandchild's nursery would be perfect. It would act like a big playpen when I needed them to stay in one place for when I needed them to. I just need to find out where to buy one! Perfect idea!  add a comment

It should be ok to have interior Dutch doors. I have seen it many times and when they are done correctly they are beautiful. I have seen several homes that had glass Dutch doors leading from the formal dining room to the living/entertaining room.

Unless there is specific local code that prohibits Dutch doors, there is nothing wrong with having them on an interior application. They could be especially useful in a child's playroom.
