Is it normal for a dog to stumble after exercise?

Not usually. You might want to scale back on the amount of exercise given at any one time because it might be too much for your dog to handle. It sounds like your dog can't keep himself coordinated very well after exercise, so have him take it easy for a while.

Stumbling can be caused by a number of problems. He could just be excessively tired, or he could have cerebellar problems that interfere with his motor function and coordination.

If a dog was exercising at a high pace for a period of time without a cool down period the dog may be tired. Stumbling could occur if this happens.

If the dog has done too much exertion for the age/size of it, it can be normal. Give it water and see if it helps.
