Is canned soup healthy?

Not very healthy. Read the nutritional lables. Canned food would typically contain more sugar/sodium/fat/preservatives to extend its shelf life. That wouldn't be good for you. Of course, comparing canned soup to freshly made soup, fresh is always healthier.

It has 2 servings usually (around 1300mg salt). So eat it as 2 or more. Add water, spices and meat/veggies. You still get roughly the base soup taste that you bought and at least 2 servings of way less salt.

It is almost criminal the amount of sodium in some canned soups. most cans have more than one serving, so if you eat an entire can (which isn't too much), then you may be consuming even more sodium than you think.

you mean, "YOU'RE"? Because... Spelling errors totally destroy the humour there. Anyway, as everyone said, and I'll bleat back, check the label. Salt and sugar are simply ways to make the bland more palatable, usually at low cost. There are good canned soups out there though :)

Canned soup can be healthy, depending on the ingredients. You must be careful to check the calorie and fat level of the soup. Another thing to keep in mind is that canned soup, as a rule, is very high in sodium.

It really depends on the type of soup you're looking for. Most condensed soups contain loads of msg, sodium, and fat (this is particularly true with cream-based soups). There are a lot of brands out there making healthier, more natural soups with less sodium. Truthfully, the healthiest soups are made at home from scratch.

Can soup is not healthy. I know that people market it as such, for example they have all kinds of healthy soups out there. You should really reads the labels, because these soups still have high sodium content. I would just stick with the homemade soup.
