This means you got 8. 5 questions correct out of 80 questions. Or 8. 5 points out of 80. Thats about 11% you failed.

To find your percentage, you must divide the top number, 8. 5 (your correct answers) into the bottom number, 80 (the total possible points), which equals 0. 10625. Multiply this by 100 (or move the decimal point two places to the right), giving you 10. 625% as your final score. In a nutshell, this means you need to study a lot more!

It appears that you only received points for about one tenth of the assignment (about 8 points out of 80), meaning that your class grade would be about 10%. This would equate to an "F" in most cases; however, some schools allow grading on a curve which has the potential to boost the letter equivalent of your grade.
