You can do a project where they cut out pieces of thick paper and gluestick them onto another piece of paper, dropping then randomly, and have them put a thinner piece of paper on top of it all, using a pencil lightly to shade over the whole area. It creates cool designs, and it's even done in college.

If you can get your hands on some ribbon and pony beads then you can get the kids to make what are known as beadie buddie lizards. They were a big hit when I was in school and pretty easy to teach. Just make sure to give the kids plenty of ribbon or cord and beads.

Have the children look up some information on their heritage. Then have them build a city uniting all the different heritages together. Assign needed buildings and jobs to each child, (store, garage, builders,ect.). It will show them how everyones different ideas and beliefs can come togetther and make a new world in harmony with eachother.

After a unit on self-portraits studying Frida Kahlo and Van Gogh, have students create their own self-portraits. As a piggyback to social studies curriculum, create travel brochures for South America.
