Try to find inserts for your running shoes. Running on softer surfaces, such as grass, can also help. Instead of running for a long distance twice a week, you could run shorter distances more often.

You should visit a Podiatrist or foot doctor if the pain is unbearable and lasts too long too frequently. You might be wearing the wrong kind of shoe or overdoing the workout. A podiatrist may diagnose and help prevent further damage if any has occurred that have caused you pain.

It could be your running shoes. Make sure they are in good condition or add inserts. Warm up your feet before a run and avoid stepping barefoot on cold surfaces.
