To treat the fly bites wash the dog with shampoo and put antibiotics on bites if infected, also put a thin layer of vaseline on dogs ears and snout.Add cider vinegar, 1 tsp. to dogs water also flies won't bite dogs that drink this.On hottest days keep dog in.

If your dog has been a victim of fly strike, keep the area clean with a peroxide solution (1 part peroxide to five parts water) and very dry. Spray with antiseptic for dogs and try to keep your friend indoors as it's healing.

The best cure for this in my opinion is FRONTLINE flea care products for dogs. It is extremely effective and is used monthly.

Pet-Guard Gel is a really good product to use to keep flies from biting your dog's ears and nose. A couple other products that we used years ago that worked well was both vaseline and diaper rash ointment.

I keep my dog fly free using a great product called Frontline that is essentially an oil that you apply to the back of your dog's neck once every month.

Just let them heal or treat them with some antiseptic/ alcohol type stuff. You can get stuff to put on your dog to keep the flies away too.
