How would you rate motorcycle seats in terms of comfort?

I had an 86 Virago, and I loved the seats. They were really comfortable even on long rides. I went clear across the country on that seat. I've seen one or two that get some cracks in the cushion, but that is simple to fix up with some duct tape.

The stock seat on the Virago seems comfortable when you first sit on it because if is very soft. After about 50 miles it starts to hurt.

I've actually ridden in an 85 Virago and it was pretty nice! It's not nearly as bumpy as a lot of motorcycle seats and the material is actually quite lovely.
