Wall color changes easily and cheaply, so consider a nuetral color for your furniture, since it costs more, and buy for comfort. You can add color with pillows and throws.

Furniture color should be complimentary to the color of the walls - not match exactly. Choose a color in the same family but far enough apart to be a difference.

Woods have either a yellow or pink undertone, so match with this in mind. For uphoslstery, try prints with a color that picks up the wall color.

If you furniture has a pattern, paint the walls the color that is least shown in the pattern, or if it is a solid, choose a shade that compliments it.
