This measurement is from the basics of physics. It is actually quite simple. Standard size for mass is kg (kilogram). 1kg is equal to 1000gr (grams). And as we go on smaller units, we get to 1 gram. 1gr is equal to 1000mg (miligrams). 1000mg of vitamins is not a small ammount, but it depends on the purpose.

One thousand milligrams is just what it says. Look at the label on the bottle to see how many milligrams is in each tablet. Then take the number of pills you need to take to total the one thousand. For example, if each tablet has 250 milligrams, you need to take four of them to equal one thousand milligrams.

mg stands for milligrams, the smallest unit in grams(weight measurement)furthermore 1000 mg is equal to 1 gram and 1000 grams is equal to 1 kg,this is the standard unit of weight measurement. Few things are measured in in mg because it depends on the quantity. normally costly things like gold are measured in these units.

1000 mg (milligrams) is equal to 1 gram, which in turn is approximately 1/28th of an ounce. This represents the dosage you are supposed to take of the specified vitamin. Keep in mind that vitamins should be taken at the discretion of your doctor if you are taking medication.
