3 months. A dog carries for that long and since dogs go into heat twice a year, it will be only three months till you dog goes into heat again.

Generally speaking, a female dog will cycle every 180 days. So roughly, every six months she'll go into heat if she hasn't been bred. But, this isn't going to be the case with every dog every time. Like with human women, cycles will vary per individual.

It is once every six months that a dog goes back into heat after having a litter of puppies. A female will only go into heat once every six months once she hits maturity.

After she has the puppies totally weaned it can take anywhere from 6 weeks to 6 months. If you call the vet they will be able to tell you better.

It really depends on the dog. Some females are in heat 3 or more times a year. For some, it's only once per year. For the most part, a female will go into heat when the puppies are about 4 months old.
