The standard amount of time to wait is seventy two hours. This gives the chemicals time to "lock in" the perm and will not be deactivated too early.

You should not wet your hair at least 24 hours after you get a perm. Otherwise, the curls will all dismantle and fall out!

generally about three days but the longer you manage to wait the better hold the perm will have in your hair.

You must wait at least 24 hours before shampooing after receiving a perm or risk deactivating the perm. Ask you stylist for a recommendation.

The perm process opens your hair strands and it takes 48 hours to close. If you shampoo sooner than this, the permanent wave solution will be removed from your hair.
