How does the wavelength relate to the penetrating power of x-rays?

Longer wavelengths have lower energy so therefore they have less penetrating power, the shorter a wavelength the more energy it has so the more penetrating power it has. Xrays have short wavelengths which allow them to penetrate the body.

The penetrating power of an x-ray is determined by the energy of the x-ray and the physical properties of the object being penetrated. The energy of an x-ray can be determined by measuring its wavelength. X-rays of higher energies have smaller wavelengths while those of lower energies have larger wavelengths.
