Assuming you mean a wall-mount HVAC like a common hotel room would have, they're pretty simple. The air conditioner part is the same as any window air conditioning unit, which uses freon to cool the air and a fan blows it into the room. The heater is just electric coils that warms the air and blows it in.

wall mounted hvac works very much similar as the windo or floor models work. it sucks the air, separate moisture and sends cool air. this procedure is repeated continuously for working.
