Believe it or not, men are romantics. They want to win the woman's heart. Men are also goal oriented and will often set a goal of romancing the woman. But men do not want to TALK about the relationship. To them that is a waste of time. Go by how he acts toward you.

The way that men are raised in a lot of industrialized worlds, is to be self-absorbed and kind of a jerk, to be blunt. Men may not truly be this way but make sure to give them their space. If you are clingy, it will become a problem. Do not force them to share their feelings.

It's so hard, let me tell you. However you just need to understand that men don't think like us woman. You just need to try and see yourself as a man sometimes then you'll be able to (hopefully) get inside "his" head and little things won't bother you anymore.
