How do you troubleshoot a transformer?

First read the data plate on the transformer and Identify the input and output. Then with a test meter test the input voltage and compare it to the data plate. Then test the output voltage and compare that to the data plate. If the input is correct and the output is high or low then your transformer is bad.

One of the most important things to remember when you are looking for a transformer is to look for any loose wires or any substance that is located around the wire. This could be one of the easiest to fix all you have to do is tighten and clean.
