Wind clock. Turn minute hand so chime starts on an hour. Count bongs. Turn hour hand to the corresponding number of bongs you just counted. Set the time. Start pendulum.

Clock chimes are almost always self sychanizing. When you set the clock to the correct time the clock will know what to do. If the chime sequence is not right it should automatically correct itself withing a few hours. If the clock strikes the wrong hour move the hour hand to the hour that it struck.

First step is to is wind the clock until it bottoms out. Then turn the minute hand around until the chime starts on an hour. Then simply set the time by turning the minute hand around and around until you reach the correct time. Now simply start the clock by swinging the pendulum.

When you wind your clock it will chime automatically. If it chimes the wrong time, move the minute hand until the clock chimes. If it chimes 3 times move the hour hand to 3 - then turn the minute hand until it shows 3 PM, make the pendulum swing and your clock should chime correctly.

The chains within the clock must be moved to the proper settings for the chime time you desire. If you do not have the manual for the clock, I suggest you try various settings until you catch on.
