How do you repair a motherboard?

A friend said it's easy to do but I have no clue.

That all depends on the issue with the motherbaord. In some cases you may just need to redo the soldering on a particular component and sometimes the work could be so extensive that it's better to replace it.

Repairing a motherboard is no easy task at all, not even for a technician. It all depends on what kind of problem is it. Repairing a faulty jack requires soldering skills, but it's possible. Repairing a video chip requires special equipment that unfortunately is cheap to get. Get tech support.

Inorder to repair the motherboard you must find out how it is broken. After the problem in found you can continue to find a solution. If the psu dies it is most likely a cap blowing and in that case the motherboard is dead.

Repairing a mother board is not easy, your friend must not know what hes talking about. Most technicians don't even repair mother boards they just replace them. Fixing one would require lots of voltage testing of each component to see what shorted out and whats not. It would also require lots of soldering. You're better off just buying one.
