How do you recharge an air conditioner?

You don't need to recharge an air conditioner. Most run on electricial power and so once plugged in, you should be good to go.

Typically, recharging an air conditioner refers to adding coolant, such as Freon. Coolant escapes from the system in minute amounts during use, and eventually must be added back in order to allow the system to transfer heat to the outside.

Nowadays I would not even bother trying, the price of the unit has come down so much that it is not even worth thinking about. You can ask around but this has been my experience when I had this situation occur with my A/C unit recently. Best of luck with it.
