Chinese lanterns are extremely easy to grow in a temperate climate. Plant in a sunny location and keep the soil moist, not wet. Will flower mid summer with the lanterns turning orange by fall. These plants have been known to take over an entire garden within a few seasons and should be grown in containers for that reason.

Lantern plants require a good amount of sun light. It's important that they are put in good soil. Also, adding fertilizers will help make them grow well.

Lantern plants, or Chinese lantern plants can be easily grown from seeds, or from cutting. Seeds come from inside the red calyx, or the "red lantern".
