The rubber trees can be grown only where there is abundant supply of water and moisture. The rubber trees are used for getting rubber milk, which can be done when the circumference of the tree reaches 15-20 inches for that the trees must be under suitable climatic condition of moisture. It can be grown well in hilly areas.

Rubber tree plants do best in a tropical climate. They should be okay in South Carolina during th hot summer but will need to be watered on a regular basis. In the winter you should probably bring them inside.

Yes, rubber trees grow best in mild climates. In South Carolina, they will grow fine as well. You just need to proceed with caution in terms of planting them. You want to be using the best soil that contains enough nutrients for the plant to grow well. Also, you should water it daily.

YES as this is a tropical plant. Keep indoors under a grow light ($10 at Wal Mart) during the winter months, and careful not to over water.

No, there is no restriction on where you can grow the plant. You need them to grow in a dry climate. I'm sure they will grow fine as long as you water them and take proper care.

Rubber trees are indigenous to tropical rain forests, so South Carolina will probably be less than ideal. If growing the rubber tree outdoors, the hot summer weather of South Carolina will be fine, but during winter there might be some problems. In addition, the rubber tree will need a lot of water, not normally provided by the normal rainfall.

They should do well there the only time you may have a bit of trouble with them is if in the winter the weather gets cold.
