Try taking a hot shower first, this opens the pores so that the hair comes out better. Then take a pair of clean/sterile tweezers and gently grasp the end, if you can see it. Once you have it grasped, gently pull in the direction of hair growth. Do not yank or this may cause the bump to bleed.

Ingrown hairs are difficult because as they stay under the skin they become soft from the oils and moisture, and less likely to break the skin. Use a tweezers.

An ingrown hair can be painful. You should gently scrub area a few times a day. Apply warm moist compresses to raise the hair closer to surface.

The best way is to remove the ingrown hair with a pair of tweezers. Be careful if you have to shave over the bump that the ingrown hair causes!

Soak the area with a warm washcloth to soften the skin and the hair and then try to either shave it in a different direction than you normally would or tweeze it. Tweezing is probably the best idea since improper shaving can cause ingrown hairs. For a permanent solution, consider getting laser hair removal treatment.

I remove ingrown hairs with a pointed tweezer after washing the area with a warm facecloth. If I have any rubbing alcohol I pour a bit over the tweezer first.
