How do you remove an ingrown hair?

I've been told if you pick at it or do it the wrong way, it could get infected.

Not only can it get infected, it usually does. The best remedy is usually just to gently exfoliate for a day or two until the skin is weakened and the hair frees itself on its own.

In my experience, the best way to remove an ingrown hair is to first clean the area with alcohol. I would then be sure you are using a clean pair of tweezers and simply tweeze the hair out slowly. You must be careful not to break the hair or the purpose of tweezing is worthless.

First thing to do is exfoliate the area twice a day for a few days. Then gently put a drop of acne medicine over the hair. Then tweeze hair out.

Make sure your hands are sterile if you decide to pick at it. Sterilized tweezers are always best. If you leave an ingrown hair alone, it may get infected if there is no way for it to unravel itself. Otherwise, in some instances they work themselves out.

Honestly, there is no real way to remove an ingrown hair. The best way, is for it to forms into a pimple and pop it. 99% of the time, afterwards, the hair will come out.

If the hair is just under the skin and you can see it it's easy to get the top few layers of skin off or pluck it with a needle.
