An alter ego is another personality residing inside oneself. Dr. Jekyll and Mr. Hyde is an example of radically different alter egos in one body. If you feel you have an alter ego within you, you might to express that is some form-writing, music, art. An example would be Eminem and his alter ego Slim Shady.

An alter ego can be established first by assuming a different name and then begin creating a distinct identity in connection with that name. This identity is formed by gradually forming and assuming a separate biographical narative other than your own.
