First you must remove the oil pan which may include unbolting the motor mounts and lifting the engine. The pump is usually in the deepest part of the pan.

Depending on make and model it can vary greatly. Take it to your local parts house and they will pull up a full diagram of the location of the pump and parts needed to replace it.

To change the oil pump in your truck you need to make sure you have the right replacement part and the tools needed to do it. First you need to depressurize the oil line and detach the battery. After that all you ahve to do is swap out the two pumps by removing and replacing all necessary screws and nuts.

what kind of truck? for most traditional domestic trucks with a v8 engine, the oil pan will need to be removed from the bottom of the engine to access the oil pump. usually the distributor drive may need to be removed also. the oil pump bolts are removed and the pump is pulled from the engine block.

To change on oil pump you will need to drain all the oil from the truck. When oil is drained remove the oil pan. The pump should be accessible when the oil pan is removed. It may be necessary to replace the oil pan gasket if it was damaged.

Well assuming it is an older truck with a mechanical oil pump you simply unbolt it and install the new one. However before doing this the oil must be drained from the engine and the oil pan removed. Then you should be able to see the pump. IT should simply have to bolts holding it in.

TRUCK is kinda broad, most truck have the oil pump in the oil pan and to replace the pump all you have to do is remove the oil pan, there will be 2 bolts holding in the oil pump and 1 holding in the oil sump screen. Once removed clean out the screen and replace the way you removed it
