I'm trying to save money, I bought a discounted oil pump, and I'm trying to install it myself.

With the engine oil pan removed (either in itself or with the entire engine out), you must remove the mounting bolts along with the mechanical pump arm. Install in reverse

Remove the oil pan. Remove the old oil pump. Install the new oil pump. Clean the oil pan gasket surface, install new gasket and replace oil pan.
