How do I work the McDonald's register?

Most McDonald's use touch screen registers- don't let this intimidate you, I have used registers for years and LOVE these new ones. They'll do everything for you, and tell you what change to give. You will be trained thoroughly. If you boo-boo, that's what your shift leader is there for.

Working the register is rather easy. You will first go through an orientation period in which you learn the basics of utilizing the register. Mcdonald's has the system down to a science. You then enter in the orders of the customer by pressing the buttons, some have pictures. You then give and take the money.

It actually depends on where you are. In bigger cities, apparently you get training. But in the little town where, I work, you get shoved onto the register with no training and are expected not to mess up, or you're fired.
