Start by creating a detailed business plan, which will require you to look into licensing, leasing, capital, investors, taxes, state regulations/requirements, staffing, costs, inventories, marketing and advertising, insurance, employees, training and continuing education, margins, payroll, taxes, legal and accounting services, etc. 92% of all failed businesses have no business plan.

Start by researching the requirements and licensing procedures for such a business in your state. Then write a detailed business plan, including financial and budgeting information.

You will have to get the required permits in order to get the correct building that is safe for a foster home. You will also need to get the proper information needed to the government in order to get the correct medical supplies that are needed. Government grants will help you get started on the building.

First, you will need to be licensed and bonded by your state if it is a business. However, an adult daycare business must also meet medical care standards, though not the same degree as a nursing home.
