How do I remove the brake drum from a Chevrolet dual tire?

You must have the axle fully off the ground. Remove both tires from the axle. The drum sticks badly due to rust. Remove the round washer in front of the drum first. Then use a small sledge hammer to strike the drum hard while spinning it until it comes loose.

The process should be the same as it would be on a single wheel. they process may be a lot harder because the brake shoes tend to be a lot wider and may take some heat and pounding to get the drum off.

After you remove the wheels, depending on the year, the drum will either slide off, or you will need to remove the axle.

It is the same as removing from a single tire. Only difference is you have to remove two tires instead. A little bolt removing and drum knocks will do.
