Blackberries are biennials which will grow easily in almost any soil given proper space and light, so the first thing you need are starter plants. Figure out which variety suits your needs best by consulting a professional. To get the best fruit, water well and use good fertilizer and mulch. Prune blackberries every year in the late summer.
