They will need chinchilla pellets and a small amount of grains or dried apples in their diet. They need chew toys to keep their teeth from becoming overgrowen. They need to give themselves dust baths everyday with special dust you can get at a pet store.

Baby chinchillas are much like caring for a guinea-pig. The biggest difference is that chinchillas need "chinchilla dust/powder" to toss and rub over their fur. This grooming habit maintains the proper balance of oil on their coat. Chinchilla pellets, alfalfa, a water bottle and salt lick are essential.

Baby chins need a lot of care. Hopefully the mom is in the picture and he can feed on her milk, which he needs to do quite often. Keep a lot of high nutrient food in his cage. Make sure his cage is spacious.

Baby chinchilla's need alot of calcium and nutrition for the first 3 months its crucial. Hopefully you have a momma chinchilla because baby chinchillas can get milk from their mothers. Pellets and hay can be given when they are older.
