How can I communicate with my husband about what turns me on and what does not?

You need to sit him down and have a heart to heart conversation with him. Just be as blunt as you can. If it helps you can write down the things that he does to turn you on, and the things that he does that does not.

You can very well communicate with your husband in open terms in those moments of enjoyment about your choice of turning on. And during those moments he would surely understand and realize your needs and your needs would be fulfilled by him in the future also. So, tell him openly.
